The Educational Plant Maintenance Association was founded in 1961. It is an all volunteer organization that focuses on quality performance in the fields of maintenance, operations, custodial and management in the educational environment. EPMA has over many years collaborated with the Maine Department of Education, Maine Bureau of Labor Standards, Maine Integrated Pest Management Program, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and recognized national experts and leaders in the field of school maintenance and operation to provide our custodians, maintenance personnel, supervisors and directors with the tools they need to be productive, safe and effective. Our ultimate goal is to provide our students, staff and visitors to our school facilities the best educational environment possible.
What We Offer
We offer individuals the opportunity to continually improve their everyday skills and the opportunity for overall professional development. Through our annual conference and training programs. individuals are continually introduced to the newest and improved methods, materials and equipment to allow them to perform their jobs in the educational environment at the highest level possible. We also work at developing standards and best practice as they pertain to our industry. We are also stakeholders at the local, state and national level and work to address the impact of change or unforeseen circumstances that impact our industry. EPMA also offers a School Facility Certification Program that expands our commitment to provide leadership and professional development opportunities to school facility staff.
