Session Number 3

Practical Approaches to IAQ Monitoring: From Sensor Selection to Data-Driven Decision Making
Julien Stamatakis, Ph.D.
Co-Founder, CTO
Attune - Vienna, VA
About this program:

This session, led by Dr. Julien Stamatakis, will delve into the fundamentals of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) monitoring. Participants will learn how to select appropriate sensors based on different environmental needs, explore the latest sensor technologies, and understand how to interpret and act on IAQ data. The session will also include a hands-on exercise where attendees will analyze real IAQ data to identify potential sources of air quality concerns, reinforcing practical applications of the concepts learned.
You'll Learn How To:

-
Understand the Fundamentals of IAQ Monitoring: Learn the basic principles of IAQ monitoring and how it impacts building environments and occupant health.
-
Evaluate and Select Appropriate IAQ Sensors: Gain knowledge about the different types of IAQ sensors available, including their strengths, weaknesses, and use cases.
-
Analyze and Interpret IAQ Data: Learn how to read and interpret IAQ data to make informed decisions about building operations and air quality improvements.
-
Apply IAQ Data in Problem Solving: Participate in a hands-on exercise to identify IAQ concerns from real data, applying your knowledge to diagnose potential sources of air quality issues.
-
Stay Current with Emerging Sensor Technologies: Explore cutting-edge IAQ sensor technologies and how they can be integrated into future-proof monitoring systems.
About the Presenter:

Julien Stamatakis, Ph.D. is the Co-Founder and CTO of Attune. He has over 20 years of experience in developing wireless sensor-based systems for a variety of applications, including healthcare. He designed and developed the first Sensors-as-a-Service system, making data from any sensor instantly available in real-time from anywhere on the web using a unique plug-n-play wireless mesh network technology. His work with indoor air quality monitoring has helped millions of square feet of spaces reopen safer from COVID-19.
