About the Presenter:
 

 

Hal Smith is the founder and CEO of Halco Home Solutions, launched in 1984 as a plumbing, HVAC, and electrical company. With over 40 years of experience, Hal has grown Halco into a multi-million-dollar enterprise with four locations across Upstate New York. Halco is one of the few companies in New York equipped to handle the entire home electrification process—from insulation and air sealing to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. Hal currently serves as the sitting president of the Building Performance Contractors Association of New York (BPCA) and leads its statewide mentorship program. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Building Performance Association (BPA), serving on both the policy and nomination committees. Hal is a licensed master plumber, HVAC contractor, and electrician, and holds multiple BPI and industry certifications. Through his leadership, Halco offers four NYSDOL-approved apprenticeships, solidifying its role as a training ground for the next generation of energy professionals.
